We drove out of the Mercedes-AMG facility and onto some beautiful country roads with the lead engineer behind the wheel. The automobile felt like any other electric vehicle when driven normally. The car immediately came to life when the driver switched the wheel to Sport+ after we had left the town's outskirts.

The mimicked engine roar caught my attention right away. It was created specifically for AMG. EA, motivated by some of the greatest AMGs in history. The artificial gearshifts are a component of a predetermined torque curve and are not only a quick power halt. As with the Hyundai, you can feel the accumulated acceleration like in a combustion engine. Although it's not as noticeable as in the Hyundai, it still exists.

It feels a lot like an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox in a contemporary performance car when changing gears. It's enthusiastic but fluid. Although it's not as bad as the Hyundai's, I believe that both the AMG and Hyundai drivers are seeking a different experience because the AMG is a little more mature.

Additionally, the AMG upshifts automatically at redline, at least in its current configuration. The weird thing about the Hyundai is that if you purposefully miss a gear, the car smacks your skull against the steering wheel when it reaches an artificial speed limiter. It's hilarious. I feel like things are a little darker in the early stages I'm in.

Considering that the GT XX prototype produces more than 1,200 horsepower (895 kW), this may be justified.

Additionally, in order to enjoy the shift simulation, you now need to be in Sport+ mode. The automobile went back to its comfortable pace when the engineer put it in Comfort mode so that it could pass through a village (and avoid being captured by the speed camera).

Does everything function then?

Electric cars must be engaging and effective, especially high-performance models targeted at enthusiasts. They must be entertaining as well as strong. The first-generation high-performance EVs are long gone, and we live in a time when a lack of creativity more than a lack of technology is to blame for the inability to produce an enjoyable EV.

I think the idea Mercedes gave me is sound. Authenticity is increased by utilising the finest AMGs from the past to produce the audio experience. The car is an even more intense experience when you add the fun and sensation of gear shifting. 

In the end, it must be a very good performance vehicle, but Mercedes-AMG is thinking about the whole driving experience in its upcoming high-performance EVs. This will help it stand out from the competition as more EVs hit the market.

Schiebe and the group are aware that they must do it correctly. Schiebe was beaming from ear to ear as he described the process of making the car and the sound. He exudes excitement and pride for this architecture's future.

Although he would like it to be even more assertive, it is already far superior to the powerful electric cars being produced by the BMW M and Audi RS. Next year, a production model of this vehicle is anticipated to hit dealerships.
